Three Pitchers Team Up As Flora Falcons Varsity Shuts Out Crestwood

Flora Falcons Varsity defeated Crestwood 14-0 on Friday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Hill Teas struck out T Raymond to finish off the game.
Flora Falcons Varsity secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the third inning. Phillips Daniels, Ronnie McKenzie, Harmon Cox, Jake Sears, and Jacob Ridgell each drove in runs during the inning.
Flora Falcons Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning. Michael Wright grounded out, scoring one run.
Flora Falcons Varsity put up eight runs in the third inning. Flora Falcons Varsity’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by McKenzie and Cox, doubles by Daniels and Sears, and a walk by Ridgell.
One bright spot for Crestwood was a single by K Joe in the fourth inning.
Matthew Crews earned the win for Flora Falcons Varsity. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero. Ben Gilham and Teas entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
B Hillard took the loss for Crestwood. He surrendered 12 runs on nine hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one.
Flora Falcons Varsity totaled 11 hits in the game. Sears and Jake Huggins each had multiple hits for Flora Falcons Varsity. Sears led Flora Falcons Varsity with three hits in three at bats. Flora Falcons Varsity stole 11 bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Grant Loggins led the way with two. Flora Falcons Varsity didn’t commit a single error in the field. Sears had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
Joe went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Crestwood in hits.
