Multiple Teams · Edwards and Speedy Sign on to Play in College

AC Flora Athletics had 2 athletes sign National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level during the Fall Signing Ceremony held Thursday.

Emerson Edwards is wrapping up his swim career at AC Flora and will leave as one of the most decorated swimmers in school history. He is a 4-time SC Club Swimming State Champion and 5-time SCHSL State Champion for AC Flora. His accomplishments have led him to be placed on the SC All-State team 11 times over his career. His efforts have led our swim program to top-5 finishes in the last two State Meets. Emerson will also compete at Nationals in the coming weeks.

Emerson is ranked in the top 5% of the 2019 graduating class and carries a 5.02 GPA. He’s a member of our National Honor Society and an Eagle Scout.

Emerson has signed his NLI with Brigham Young University.

Caleb Speedy has been a member of our baseball program for the past 6 years with the last 4 being on varsity. During his tenure, our team won 2 Region Championships, the 2018 Forest Acres Classic, and the 2017 Nature Chem Tournament. Caleb was named to the 2018 All-Region Team and the 2017 AAAA All-State Team. Caleb also pitched a complete game victory to win the 2017 AAAA Baseball State Championship.

Off the field Caleb is ranked in the top 20% of the 2019 graduating class and carries a 4.60 GPA while enrolling in mostly Honors and AP level courses.

Caleb has signed his NLI with The Citadel.

Congratulations to these athletes, their families, and their coaches! The Falcon Nation looks forward to following both athletes’ careers.
